No. Credit is never required, for any use — free or licensed. It’s appreciated if you’d like to include one, but it has no effect on your license status either way.

Yes, freely. The same rule as above applies: if that content is monetized and not covered by a license, ad revenue (where applicable on that platform) goes to RightsFreeSound instead of you.

A Single Track License follows a “one license = one project” model — perfect for a single production where you need a permanent license for one specific video. A Subscription is built for active creators: as long as you’re subscribed, you can redeem your monthly credits across our entire catalog for an unlimited number of videos over time. Yes — Shorts follow the same rule as regular videos. There’s no separate exception for short-form content.

This isn’t a penalty and won’t get your video removed or your channel restricted — it simply means the ad revenue from that video is currently going to RightsFreeSound. If you’d like to resolve this and keep future revenue, get a Single Track License for the track, then submit the claimed video through the Remove Claim section of My Account. If you have an active Subscription, you can register your YouTube channel URL under "My Channel" in My Account to have it added to RightsFreeSound's Content ID whitelist.

Claim removal is handled through YouTube’s own Content ID dispute process, which YouTube allows up to 30 days to process — in practice, claims are typically removed faster than that.

You can use the music freely in the meantime — since your videos aren’t earning ad revenue, there’s nothing for a claim to affect. Once you’re ready to monetize, get a license for the tracks you’re using.

Each billing cycle, you get a set number of license credits to redeem on tracks in our catalog — see pricing for the current price and credit count.

Tracks you’ve already licensed with a credit stay licensed for that project forever, even after you cancel. You just won’t be able to redeem new credits or license additional tracks without an active subscription.

Yes. Unused credits carry over with no expiration, for as long as your subscription stays active.
